Dead Set (TV) (2008)

"Dead Set is E4’s new horror series in which the dead are returning to life and attacking the living. Curiously there are a few people left in Britain who aren’t worried about any of this – that’s because they’re the remaining contestants in Big Brother. Cocooned in the safety of the Big Brother house, they’re blissfully unaware of the horrific events unfolding in the outside world. Until an eviction night when all hell breaks loose."

Yes it's only been a few days since E4's zombie-reality success 'Dead Set' hit our screens and already we're seeing the release of the DVD this Monday. Isn't this how all shows and movies should be released!? And to accompany this great mini-series comes a DVD equally full of excellent behind the scenes interviews and more.

First off we have Davina McCall sitting in the make up chair having her ripped throat touched up and talking about her involvement in the series. There's also a bunch of interviews with some of the cast members on the set as well as a couple of brief words from ex-Big Brother housemate geek Eugene.

But notably worthy of buying the disc just for the features has to be the interviews with actor Andy Nyman (who plays the intolerable producer Patrick) and writer/creator himself Charlier Brooker who is, as usual, hilarious and full of his usual blunt manner and edgy comments.

The bonus DVD also gives you a better insight into how a lot of the effects were put together and how the gore-laden scenes were created as well as how the whole production team including director Yann Demange just managed to pull off such a ground breaking horror serial for UK television.
