Brad Sykes most ambitious project to date (in my eyes) turned out to be quite different to his usual stuff, but the grown up subject matter and mature approach was highly welcome.
Chrissy and Boone are a cute Goth couple who head to a club one night and quickly regret it as they join the sinister titular character on a journey to the depths of depravity and back again.
When Phoebe Dollar introduces herself as Goth, the kids proclaim that they too are ‘goth’, which she soon sets out to test.
The kids travel the City streets in a van driven by an unseen party as Goth forces them to take ‘White Light’ and makes them have sex with and then murder people ‘Last House on the Left’ style.
Phoebe Dollar who I assumed would be a one trick pony was good as Goth, so I would like to see her tackle further roles which don’t require her to be a bitchy sorority sister with boobs, and the rest of the cast gave credible performances too.
It is evident Brad Sykes really worked hard on this one and despite a Producer who had little faith in the project, he proves that he can tell a good story without having to resort to having girls run around with their boobies hanging out.
OVERALL SUMMARY
An alternative movie and a welcome breath of fresh air in the stifling genre world.
