In short, I didn’t like it. This L.A. set film, which is based on a Bram Stoker tale barely adds or alters anything in vampire lore, but does demonstrate an abundance of poor sound quality and terrible acting.
I didn’t care for the story, the cast, the characters, nothing. It’s very slick looking but that’s about all it offers.
I won’t go too deep into the plot as you’ve heard it a hundred times, but it’s so pathetically over the top that you can’t help but pray for it to end.
Basically, Van Helsing is a doctor in L.A. cursed to live forever until he defeats the big bad Vamp Sebastian. Fang features has resorted to hiding away without drinking blood, so as to keep his whereabouts secret from Van. In an attempt to recycle stock footage and plot points from both Buffy and Angel, a dude in scrubs steals blood packs from the hospital and it sets about changing the vampires attitudes to life in L.A. All hell breaks loose and Van sets about training some slayers.
OVERALL SUMMARY
That’s about it kids, nothing new here to see so why not rewatch some eps of Buffy instead. That’s okay, no need to thank me. I watch these things so you don’t have to.
