I could find nothing about this newly released slasher movie, thanks to its awful UK title of SAWED but this surprisingly good little movie is actually Devon’s Ghost: Legend of the Bloody Boy.
The film starts out well if you can get past the fact that the majority of the sound was created in ADR, and despite the terrible dialogue, high drama and moments of cliché it was fun for its entire run.
I was pissing myself when all of the characters were suddenly capable of Kung Fu but that’s when I realized that the two actors I recognized were former power rangers.
The characters have the strangest names I have ever heard (they may as well be power rangers with names such as Symphony, Genesis and Freedom) and some of the acting is a little questionable, but the film is a lot of silly B-movie fun nonetheless.
OVERALL SUMMARY
Unashamedly cliché, Sawed is teen slash trash at its silly brutal best. The killer’s weapon of choice is so simple yet effective, and the blood flows freely in this one kids. Despite some dodgy editing and dud moments of acting, the choreography and effects make up for it.
