Brett Kelly’s latest movie sees him make the leap and move in with his girlfriend only to kill her in an accident and then bring her back to life with an ancient text…or has he?
Trying to escape from the prying eyes of his nosy neighbours, he takes his reanimated bride-to-be to a friend’s cabin in the woods, only to be interrupted by his beer loving friends who have planned a big weekend of partying.
As he tries to keep the truth from his friends and work out how to help his beloved, all manner of hi-jinx ensue.
The film is simple yet effective and is laugh out loud funny in some parts, such as the moment his friends turn up at the remote log cabin and confront him about the state of his wife-to-be, accusing him of domestic abuse.
The cast are all believable in the unbelievable situation, and the film benefits from genuine humour too.
OVERALL SUMMARY
My Dead Girlfriend marks a fine return to the horror comedies of old such as Teen Wolf and My Boyfriend’s Back.
