Sean Patrick Flanery stars as Wayne, a small town Sheriff on his last day on the job before he and his wife head off for the bright lights of the City. Unfortunately for them, this would be the one day that the town is besieged by a pack of Ravens who have been feeding on the flesh of dead cattle which were infected by mad cow disease.
The film looks great thanks to the very capable Sheldon Wilson and John P. Tarver’s cinematography and the effects work is of a relatively high standard too.
The majority of the cast (which includes Rod Taylor of The Birds fame) all do good jobs, but the actor playing Oskar was dreadful (I would never normally say that about an actor’s performance but the character and the actor’s delivery were terrible).
OVERALL SUMMARY
As a low rent version of The Birds it’s not a bad little timewaster (it’s even better than The Birds 2) but it’s not the strongest DVD film I’ve seen this year. In all, Kaw is not bad. It’s certainly worth a rent at least.
