p align=’justify’>Phantasm II picks up where the first film left off, before setting up a new angle which sees Mike and Reg set out after The Tall Man to avenge the deaths of their loved ones.
This was an excellent sequel and I enjoyed it far more than the first film. James Le Gros was well cast as Mike and it was great to see Reggie Bannister and Angus Scrimm back too.
The film captures that late 80’s horror spirit perfectly and this is reflected in it’s Nightmare on Elm Street like aesthetic.
As with the first film, there are a number of strong visual sequences which stand out, such as the overhead shot of the two guys walking through the desolate graveyard, and the effects and editing make this a kick ass flick.
OVERALL SUMMARY
The story progresses, the locations are great; there are new toys and new chicks. All in all it’s a really Phun Phright Phlick.
