SEAN SMITH'S NEW HORROR SHORT 'THE GLOAMING' NOW AVAILABLE

Sean Smith's New Horror Short 'The Gloaming' Now Available

Ireland, 1849. The Great Famine. As a church bell tolls and the gloaming descends, a father and son working the land are forced to confront an ancient evil. The Gloaming is the debut short horror film by award-winning, IFTA-nominated filmmakers Souljacker. It was written and directed by Sean Smith and is an atmospheric piece that owes as much to the eerie bogland captured by cinematographer Brian O'Brien (Souljacker) as it does to the chilling story of a father and son stalked by an ancient evil. And you can watch it below.

The Top 5 Monster Games You Must Play

RAMPAGE (1986)
Long before home video gaming was commonplace players were forced to hide away down at their local arcade feeding machines quarters all afternoon. One such monster-based offering from Bally Midway that arrived in arcades in 1986 as well as on some of the earlier consoles available on the market was ‘Rampage’. Players could pick from a giant gorilla, lizard or werewolf in order to terrorise cities and the general population whilst trying to cause as much destruction as possible and avoiding military forces.

Win a Grinch Costume and Go Green With This Grinch Makeup Tutorial

Christmas is not exactly a holiday that you would typcially associate with the genre yet it's a time of the year that often produces plenty of horror entertainment. For some twisted reason the festive season can be a brilliantly effective backdrop for horror with classic movies such as 'Black Christmas', 'Silent Night, Deadly Night', 'Jack Frost', 'Rare Exports', 'Gremlins' all using Christmas and Christmas-related themes to bring their horrific tales to life.

5 Horror Games You Should Play

Historically, Halloween has always been something of an underrate British holiday, with celebrations often dwarfed by events on the continent and in America. This year saw a shift in this trend, however, with British consumers estimated to have spent £460 million on celebrating the world's scariest holiday. This level of expenditure means that Halloween has emerged as the UK's second-biggest party night after New Years' Eve, while it also drives home the fact that we all enjoy the thrill of being scared. There is no reason why this needs to stop with Halloween, however, especially with such a large range of scary films and games available to customers all year round.

Seaside Spookiness: Bram Stoker's 2015 Horror Film Festival

This autumn Whitby's horror fest featured original horror ideas, such as Romania's first-found footage horror ("Be my Cat: A film for Anne"). It was also a good year for great titles, such as the Finnish “Bunny the Killer Thing”, directed by Joonas Makkonen, and “Artichokes Piranha from the Prehistoric Abyss”, directed by Javier Lozano Sanchez. There was also the world's least expected horror subjects, for a lost glove's owner in Canadian “Mitten”.

The Scariest Moments of Jurassic Park

Earlier this month ‘Jurassic World’, the eagerly anticipated fourth instalment in the popular dinosaur-based franchise, arrived on DVD and Blu-ray here in the UK and with it there was plenty of nostalgia to enjoy. The sequel directed by Colin Trevorrow manages to take us on yet another thrilling ride through the newly conceived park which has finally opened its doors to the general public after a string of notable incidents mostly involving sharp teeth, running and screaming. The franchise itself has helped spawn endless merchandise, games such as the Jurassic Park slot and a whole heap of action figures, apparel and spin-off video games. So to celebrate we thought, in true nostalgic style, that we would take a look back at some of the most terrifying moments from the original ‘Jurassic Park’.
