Originally a singer by trade, my
next guest found herself thrown into the world of horror by chance, after
a production company noticed some pictures she had had taken for her
record cover. With many roles in the genre now behind her and an army of
loyal fans continuing to support her thanks to her turn as Destiny -
Vampire Mermaid, I sat down for a chat with Debbie D.
How did you get into acting?
I always dabbled in acting and was in school plays as well as the Glee
Club and I also sang in bands on the weekend. I started full time acting
when a film company by the name of Falcon Productions found me in a
modeling magazine and put me in my first horror film.
Are you a big fan of horror
movies?
I am a fan of the entertainment industry in general.
Of all the roles you have
played which is your favourite?
I don't have a favourite role but "Tales 'til the End" and "The Ghosts of
Angela Webb" are two that received a lot of attention.
Who have you enjoyed working
with most over the years?
I like all the actors I've worked with. I'm easy to work with and I find
people interesting.
 Debbie:
"Variety is what it's all about for me".
|
You have done short films and
features, which do you prefer?
I like doing short films as well as features. Variety is what it's all
about for me.
You have worked with Tina
Krause a lot. What is she like on set?
Tina Krause is a blast on the set. She's always thinking and is very
creative.
What’s the best lesson you’ve
learned about life from your time spent on the set of horror
movies?
You're going to be covered in something yucky from head to toe and you
just need to move with it. It's part of the Biz!!! The lessons learned
are experience and now I'm ready for anything that comes down the
pike!
What are your thoughts on the
continued success of the horror genre and it’s ever increasing
popularity?
Horror will always be around. We thrive on it. It's here to stay. I'm
glad I'm a part of this history past present and future!!!
Which movies are you looking
forward to this year?
I don't get to the movies much. Although the previews always look
good.
You are well known for your
role of Destiny, Vampire Mermaid. How did you get the gig?
Destiny Vampire Mermaid was originally a comic book character but I came
along and gave her life as her spokes person. You can follow her stories
in each issue of "Scary Monsters Magazine" sold at Barnes and Noble and
most comic and novelty stores. I've done comics come to life stories of
her, sold on my site, before any of the bigger budget movies came out with
theirs. Copy Cats. I've started many trends over the years.
 Debbie:
"I enjoy all the movies and custom videos I make".
|
You also make custom videos.
Does that keep you pretty busy?
I enjoy all the movies and custom videos I make. They are all different
and I can keep creating, which I love and I love what I do so that helps
tremendously!!!
What do you think of horror
fans?
I try to be there for the fans and doing custom photos and videos is a
good way.
You appeared in ‘Demon of
Temptation’ with Luc Bernier. How did you get the part and how did you
enjoy working with Luc?
Luc wrote the story and did his part and then we did our parts down here.
The editing makes it all come together and WAVE is good with that.
What can we expect to see from
you throughout the latter half of 2005?
I am always working on new projects. You can keep up on it by checking
out my website at: www.DebbieD.com If you do a search you will find out
even more about me. Thanks, and I hope to meet everyone someday when I'm
doing my personal appearances at shows and conventions. Take Care!
"Thank you ever so much for taking part in this interview
Debbie.
And we wish you the very best of luck in the future."
