Brad Anderson’s latest thriller ‘The Call’, starring Halle Berry, opened in the US at the end of last week but today we’re discussing his new up and coming directorial project ‘Eliza Graves’. Based on the short story ‘The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether’ penned by Edgar Allan Poe in the mid-19th Century and adapted for the big screen by Joe Gangemi the story revolves around Eliza, a patient in an asylum where the inmates have taken control and are now pretending to be doctors. And the role of Eliza may be going to British beauty Kate Beckinsale -below (‘Underworld: Awakening’, ‘Total Recall’). The star is in negotiations to play the part in the psychological thriller for Millennium/Nu Image. Mel Gibson and ex-Playboy hottie Christa Campbell are both on board as producers.
“Eliza Graves is patient at a mental institution in which the inmates have taken over and are posing as doctors. She becomes the object of affection of a newly arrived Harvard Medical School grad who has no idea of the topsy-turvy world he just entered.”
Shooting on ‘Eliza Graves’ will kick off in Bulgaria from 21 June.
