Although German helmer Marcus Nispel’s last few projects haven’t exactly set the horror fantasy world alight we’re hoping he can get back up on the podium with his long awaited ‘Backmask’. The horror fueled story of some dopey teenagers who manage to summon a demon by playing a record backwards stars the gorgeous Brittany Curran -below (‘Men of a Certain Age’) and the actress has Tweeted a pic of herself having a right bloody good time in the movie. Back in 2003 director Nispel swapped music videos for features and turned out the impressive remake for ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’. Sadly ever since there’s not been too much to shout about with the likes of adventure fantasies ‘Pathfinder’ and ‘Conan the Barbarian’ and the hugely subpar attempt at remaking iconic slasher flick ‘Friday the 13th’. Stephen Lang, Kelly Blatz, Kevin Chapman, Gage Golightly and Nick Nicotera all star in the movie. Head below for the new Twit pic.
“During a sex, drugs, and rock-fueled party, six small-town teenagers find an old vintage record and decide to play it backwards in order to listen for any subliminal/satanic messages. Lo and behold, a seemingly malevolent spirit quickly infiltrates the group, wreaking havoc as it moves from one body to another. Eventually, however, it’s revealed that the spirit in question is actually trying to convey a message….and that the real source of horror isn’t particularly paranormal, but rather something (or someone) much closer to home.”
