We bloody love an infographic over here at the Horror Asylum. Perhaps its the mundane and pretty useless statistics they visualise or the movies they cover. But either way they kill a few minutes whilst helping to promote a new or upcoming release in a unique way. Today’s “By the Numbers” infographic has a go at comparing Sam Raimi’s cult classic horror fest ‘The Evil Dead’ and pits it against Fede Alvarez’s new version which premieres in the US this evening! So if you’re desperate to geek up on your numeric facts about the two versions and check out how many fake shemps were credited in the 1981 original then head below. Jane Levy (‘Suburgatory’), Shiloh Fernandez (‘Red Riding Hood’), Jessica Lucas (‘Cloverfield’), Lou Taylor Pucci (‘Carriers’) and Elizabeth Blackmore all star in the exciting sounding redo.
“Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead. An archaeologist’s tape recording reveals that the ancient text was discovered among the Khandarian ruins of a Sumerian civilization. Playing the taped incantations, the youths unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”
‘Evil Dead’ arrives in US theatres tomorrow and here in the UK from 18 April.
