Universal have decided on a swap around for two of its most exciting upcoming features due this coming Summer here in the UK. Things must be going well in the editing room for Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg’s ‘The World’s End’ as the project has been moved up nearly a month in the schedule from its original 14 August UK release slot to a new 19 July opening. Unfortunately this means it has trounced on the spot originally lined up for action comedy sequel ‘Kick-Ass 2’ which has now been plonked directly in the now open 14 August slot. So whilst news of the date shift for the apocalyptic comedy from the team behind ‘Shaun of the Dead’ is very welcome indeed it’s a bit of blow for the ‘Kick-Ass’ follow-up to take a theatrical hit.
The US won’t be seeing ‘Kick-Ass 2’ until 16 August and ‘The World’s End’ won’t be making a theatrical appearance stateside until 23 August.
