Well we've been talking about it for 5 years and it seems finally things are moving forward straight into planned production. MGM's 'Poltergeist' remake is being lined up for a September shoot in Toronto and casting has already kicked off. Sam Raimi ('Evil Dead'), Rob Tapert and Roy Lee will all produce and 'City of Ember' and 'Monster House' helmer Gil Kenan will direct. Along with the announcement comes the first look at just some of the finer plot details from the project. The Freeling family become the Bowens, where the father Eric has lost his job and has relocated to a new town. His wife Amy can communicate with the dead and when their daughter goes missing they call in a TV celebrity, Carrigan Burke, who hosts 'Haunted House Cleaners' and his parapsychologist ex-wife Dr. Brooke Powell to investigate. Sounds interesting, no?
"Poltergeist follows Eric Bowen and his family, who, after he loses his job, relocate to a new town to start over. His daughter, Madison, is abducted, making him truly understand what's important in life: family."
