A new ‘Carrie’ based motion poster has been revealed by Screen Gems featuring segregated pieces of footage from Kimberly Peirce’s upcoming remake. The new asset also shamelessly buys into the ridiculously overused ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ concept, based on the original British propaganda poster used during the Second World War. Chloe Moretz (‘Kick-Ass 2’) stars as ‘Carrie’ in this reimagining of the classic Stephen King telekinetic terror tale. Julianne Moore (‘Hannibal’), Portia Doubleday (‘Youth in Revolt’), Alex Russell (‘Chronicle’), Ansel Elgort, Judy Greer (‘The Village’) and Gabriella Wilde all star. Check out the new motion poster below.
“The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.”
‘Carrie’ opens in US theatres on 18 October.
