Let me begin by stating that I happen to really enjoy the found footage genre. Of course its a sub genre awash with shoddy knock-offs, dire acting and other generally exhausted ideas and concepts but every now and again we catch glimpse of a fresh outlook or a new approach. I don’t personally see that that differs from any other genre in horror and so can’t always understand why found footage takes the brunt of the hate. And it appears another addition to the genre is heading our way thanks to a succesul KickStarter campaign from ‘CarnieVille’ helmer Victor Mathieu. His new independent horror flick ‘The Monster Project’ is set to begin shooting this July and you can check out the ‘familiar’ sounding plot synopsis and teaser trailer below.
