Jon Wright’s ‘Grabbers’ is finally due to land on US shores in theatres, on Cable and on VOD from 19 July. The Irish comedy horror sees some outer worldly tentacled beings land on Erin Island ready to suck the blood of the locals. And the small Irish community come up with an award winning idea to fend off the creatures, getting crunk! IGN have revealed a new US trailer for the flick and have also unveiled a new cool ‘Sobriety Kills!’ poster. ‘Grabbers’ stars Richard Coyle (‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time’), Ruth Bradley (‘Primeval’, ‘Titanic’), Russell Tovey (‘Being Human’), Lalor Roddy, David Pearse, Bronagh Gallagher, Pascal Scott, Micheál Ó Gruagáin, Clelia Murphy, Jonathan Ryan, Barbara Adair, Stuart Graham, Roz McCutcheon, Louis Dempsey, Killian Coyle and Ned Dennehy. Check out the poster and trailer below.
“Something sinister has come to the shores of Erin Island, unbeknownst to the quaint population of this sleepy fishing village resting somewhere off Ireland’s coast. First, some fishermen go missing. Then there is the rash of whale carcasses suddenly washing up on the beach. When the murders start, it’s up to two mismatched cops–an irresponsible alcoholic and his new partner, a by-the-book woman from the mainland–to protect the townsfolk from the giant, bloodsucking, tentacled aliens that prey upon them. Their only weapon, they discover, is booze. If they want to survive the creatures’ onslaught, everyone will have to get very, very drunk!”
