A batch of new cast members have been tacked on to the Elijah Wood (‘Maniac’) produced horror comedy project ‘Cooties’. A whole array of comedic talent has signed up to star alongside Wood in the Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion helmed feature which sees him lead a group of teachers to fight against virus infected students at an elementary school. Rainn Wilson (‘The Office’), Alison Pill -below (‘Snowpiercer’), Jack MacBrayer (’30 Rock’), Jorge Garcia (‘Lost’) and Nasim Pedrad (‘Saturday Night Live’) have all joined the cast most definitely highlighting the fact that this project will be more comedy than horror. Milott and Murnion direct from a script co-penned by Ian Brennan and ‘Saw’ and ‘Insidious’ scribe Leigh Whannell, who will also make an appearance on screen.
“A mysterious virus hits an isolated elementary school, transforming the pre-adolescent children into a feral swarm of mindless savages. An unlikely hero must lead a motley band of teachers in the fight of their lives against the monstrous pupils.”
‘Cooties’ is yet to be set an official release date.
