A new triple hit of ‘Carrie’ stills have arrived each greatly representative of some of the more memorable images from Brian De Palma’s original. The new images feature ‘Kick-Ass 2’ star Chloe Grace Moretz in the iconic role, first filled by Sissy Spacek in the first feature adaptation back in 1976, as well as Julianne Moore (‘Hannibal’) who takes the part of Margaret White. The new and “more faithful” adaptation from director Kimberly Peirce is of course based upon the classic novel from acclaimed horror author Stephen King. Portia Doubleday (‘Youth in Revolt’), Alex Russell (‘Chronicle’), Ansel Elgort, Judy Greer (‘The Village’) and Gabriella Wilde also star. Check out the new images below.
“The quiet suburb of Chamberlain, Maine is home to the deeply religious and conservative Margaret White and her daughter Carrie. Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargenson, but only Chris’ best friend, Sue Snell, regrets their actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to prom. Pushed to the limit by her peers at the dance, Carrie unleashes telekinetic havoc.”
‘Carrie’ opens in the US on 18 October and will arrive here in the UK on 29 November.
