It appears that our young Norman has been honing his taxidermy skills for the latest teaser for the upcoming season season of A&E’s excellent ‘Bates Motel. The second season, currently shooting, sees the return of Norman and Norma played by the both excellent Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga (‘Source Code’) and further exploring their bizarre and often uncomfortable relationship. Max Thieriot (‘The House at the End of the Street’), Olivia Cooke (‘The Quiet Ones’), Nicola Peltz (‘The Last Airbender’) and Nestor Carbonell (‘Lost’) also return for more ‘Psycho’-based action. Kathleen Robertson (‘Boss’), Paloma Kwiatkowski (‘Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters’), Michael Vartan (‘Alias’), Michael Ecklund (‘The Divide’), Rebecca Creskoff and Kenny Johnson all join the series. And isn’t it fantastic that a show’s teaser can simply flash up a neon signed number “2” and you already know what it’s promoting? Check it out below.
“A modern re-imagining and prequel to the movie Psycho (1960), this story begins with the earlier years of a teenage Norman Bates and his mother Norma who live in an old house overlooking the adjoining motel which they are renovating. The house and hotel both come with secrets of their own as does the new town which the Bates’ now call home.”
