Hammer Films’ horror sequel ‘The Woman in Black: Angel of Death’ is currently shooting here in the UK over at Pinewood in spite of the fact that it won’t be hitting theatres until 13 February 2015. So with such a long wait we’re hoping the news and asset output for the project will keep ticking along. Two new cast members have signed up for roles on the project which is being directed by ‘Demons’ and ‘Misfits’ helmer Tom Harper. British actors Leanne Best (‘Ripper Street’) and Helen McCrory -below (‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’) have joined the cast that already includes ‘War Horse’ star Jeremy Irvine and Phoebe Fox. The sequel follows up 2012’s hit horror adaptation ‘The Woman in Black’ which starred Danielle Radcliffe.
“As bombs rain down on London during the Blitz of World War II, a group of school children are evacuated with Eve, their young and beautiful schoolteacher, to the safety of the English countryside. Taken to an old and empty estate, cut off by a causeway from the mainland, they are left at Eel Marsh House. One by one the children begin acting strangely, and Eve, with the help of local military commander Harry, discovers that the group has awoken a dark force even more terrifying and evil than the city’s air raids. Eve must now confront her own demons to save the children and survive The Woman in Black.”
