One of the most terrifying elements we were introduced to in James Wan’s The Conjuring’ was of course the notorious Annabelle doll whose sub-plot was equally unsettling as the main storyline. Well Schmoes Know has word that the creepy little toy maybe getting her very own feature. ‘Annabelle’ will be directed by ‘The Conjuring’s director of photography John R. Leonetti and is due to start shooting in Spring 2014. This thankfully shouldn’t have any bearing on the development of ‘The Conjuring 2’ which Warner Bros have confirmed that the Hayes brothers are still hard at work on the script for the sequel. There’s no director lined up just yet for the follow-up but of course its the studios intention to do all they can to lure James Wan back into the director’s chair.
Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren (featured in ‘The Conjuring’) looked into the case of the possessed ‘Annabelle’ doll back in the 1970’s in which a college student who was gifted the doll from a hobby store arrived home each evening to discover it had moved from its original location. These events escalated into more disturbing occurrences revolving around the doll which eventually lead to the Warrens investigation and utlimately being locked permanently inside a glass cabinet in the Warrens house.
