Amongst the upcoming film to TV adaptations in the genre is SyFy's '12 Monkeys' planned series. The show, based on the 1995 time-travelling thriller from director Terry Gilliam, is being turned into a 60 minute currently by Universal Cable Productions and Atlas Entertainment. 'Fringe' star Kirk Acevedo (below) is the latest to join the cast and will line up alongside the already cast Aaron Stanford ('The Hills Have Eyes'), Amanda Schull ('One Tree Hill'), Zeljko Ivanek ('24') and Noah Bean. The original feature starred both Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. Acevedo can be currently seen starring AMC's 'The Walking Dead' as Mitch, the Govenor's new right-hand man.
Acevedo will play Ramse, Cole's (Aaron Stanford) closest friend in the apocalyptic future. "He's clever and fiercely loyal and helped Cole survive the destruction of civilization. While Cole travels through time, Ramse proves critical to the survival of the team that makes it possible."
