Juan Antonio Bayona, the man behind the Guillermo Del Toro produced Spanish horror thriller ‘The Orphanage’, has been chosen as the director of the upcoming ‘World War Z’ sequel. Paramount Pictures signed up the director to helm the big action follow-up project that will see Brad Pitt (‘Se7en’) both return to star and in a producers capacity. The original movie, directed by Marc Forster, came with endless difficulties and production troubles but still made a mint at the box office hence why a sequel was greenlit almost immediately. ‘World War Z’ is based on the novel of the same name by author Max Brooks. Unusually it appears that a director has been drafted in ahead of any writers being tapped to pen the script. The last we heard from Pitt is that a bag of ideas was being currently thrown around.
