Jonathan Glazer’s unusual new sci-fi thriller ‘Under the Skin’ has been given a release date courtesy of A24. The movie, starring the delectable Scarlett Johansson -below (‘Avengers Assemble’) will be heading to theatres on 4 April 2014. Glazer directs from a script by Walter Campbell which in turn is based on the novel by author Michel Faber. The movie sees Johansson star as Isserley, an alien lifeform here on Earth, who uses “her voracious sexuality” to ensnare her victims in order to feed. Expect plenty of Lynchian nods and visual wonderment from Brit helmer Glazer, the man responsible for crime drama ‘Sexy Beast’ and a myriad of excellent music videos.
“Isserley, an alien on earth, disguised as the perfect aesthetic form of a mesmerizing woman. She scours remote highways and desolate scenery looking to use her greatest weapon to snare human prey — her voracious sexuality. She is deadly efficient, but over time becomes drawn to and changed by the complexity of life on earth. With this new found humanity and weakening alien resolve, she finds herself on a collision course with her own kind.”
