NBC and Lionsgate Television’s new miniseries based on classic horror title ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ has landed its lovely leading lady. ‘Avatar’ and ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ hottie Zoe Saldana (below) has been cast in the lead role as Rosemary. In addition to her role the 35-year old actress will also serve as an executive producer on the project. Casting for the new four hour miniseries began this month in Paris so we’ll expect to see more names added to the cast list over the coming days/weeks. Polish helmer Agnieszka Holland (‘The Killing’) will direct from a script adapted by both Scott Abbott (‘Queen of the Damned’) and James Wong (‘Final Destination’). The story of course is based on the original novel by Ira Levin.
“This version of the story will revolve around a young married couple who move into a Paris apartment that has a haunted past. After getting pregnant, the wife becomes increasingly suspicious that both her husband and their neighbors will have ulterior motives when her child is born.”
