The upcoming US remake of the 2003 Japanese thriller ‘2LDK’ has not only gained a new director but also a new leading star. ‘Entourage’ star Kevin Connolly has been slotted to replace Andy Fickman (‘Race to Witch Mountain’) to direct ‘The Wright Girls’. And even original leading lady Gemma Arterton (‘Byzantium’) has been replaced by the ‘just as sexy’ star Jessica Alba -below (‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’). The Relativity Media and Atlas Entertainment co-production will begin shooting in LA this coming April. Connolly will direct from a script adapted by ‘Easy A’ scribe Bert Royal. In a statement Connolly said: “I’m excited for the opportunity to work with Jessica… and re-imagine this great story for a new audience. It’s been great working with everyone at A tlas as we gear up for production.”
“The story revolves around two young actresses who live together, pretend to be best friends and are co-stars on a successful television show. In reality, they detest each other and go to extreme and violent lengths to do one another in when they end up competing for the same movie role. The role of the other actress has not been cast.”
