‘Funny Games’ and ‘Boardwalk Empire’ star Michael Pitt (below) is the latest to join the cast of the second season of NBC’s ‘Hannibal’. Pitt will play the role of Mason Verger, a patient who was eventually left horribly disfigured after a therapy session with Dr Lecter. The role was originally played by Gary Oldman (‘The Dark Knight Rises’) in 2001 horror sequel ‘Hannibal’ who was unrecognisable under his disturbing make-up. Actress Katharine Isabelle (‘American Mary’) recently joined the cast to play Mason’s sister Margot. Hugh Dancy, Mads Mikkelsen (‘Casino Royale’), Laurence Fishburne (‘The Matrix’), Scott Thompson, Aaron Abrams, Hettienne Park, Caroline Dhavernas, Eddie Izzard (‘The Munsters’) and Gillian Anderson (‘The X-Files’) all star in the upcoming season premiering later this month.
