John Leonetti is directing whilst Annabelle Wallis (‘X-Men: First Class’), Ward Horton (‘The Wolf of Wall Street’), Alfre Woodard, Brian Howe and Gabriel Bateman are on board to star – but we’re still waiting for a release date for ‘The Conjuring’ spin-off feature ‘Annabelle’. So have New Line and Warner Bros. officially nailed one? It appears that the studios have unveiled a 3 October 2014 release date for a yet ‘Untitled New Line Horror Film’. This comes fresh along with the announcement of an October 2015 release for ‘The Conjuring 2’. So this begs the question, could this be ‘Annabelle’? The project is currently filming and by all means could be ready for a release this Autumn/Fall so let’s keep our fingers crossed for some creepy possessed doll action this coming Halloween.
‘The Conjuring’ spin-off doll horror ‘Annabelle’ has snared a couple of new cast members. The brave souls set to face the terrifying demonic doll, based on the true story by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, are British actress Annabelle Wallis (‘X-Men: First Class’) and Ward Horton (‘The Wolf of Wall Street’). The New Line production is set to be directed by John Leonetti who will helm from a script written by Gary Dauberman. Filming is set to begin over in LA on 27 January. James Wan will serve as an executive producer on the spin-off based entirely on the story within a story from this year’s huge horror hit ‘The Conjuring’. It was most certainly one of the most unsettling moments in the movie and so we’ll be very much looking forward to how this story expands.
