Simian sequel ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ is fast approaching and now 20th Century Fox have unleashed a brief yet very interesting new video to accompany the upcoming release. The featurette takes a look at some side-by-side comparison shots of all the main monkey motion capture performers; including Brit stars Andy Serkis (‘The Hobbit’) and Toby Kebbell (‘Black Mirror’). The video entitled ‘Ape Evolution!’ gives us a special peek behind the effects and physical performances coupled together in the process to bring us this fantastic on-screen transformation from actor to ape. Jason Clarke (‘Zero Dark Thirty’), Gary Oldman (‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’), Keri Russell (‘Dark Skies’), Kodi Smit-McPhee (‘ParaNorman’), Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo (‘Fringe’) and Judy Greer (‘Archer’) also star in the upcoming sequel. Head below to watch the new feature.
“A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.”
#DawnOfApes hits theaters everywhere on 11 July 2014, in 3D!
