It has been well over a year since we last reported on the planned adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’. The project has already eaten through a feast of talent attached to the project at some point or another including stars such as Scarlett Johansson (‘Avengers Assemble’), Natalie Portman and Anne Hathaway (‘Les Miserables’). As well as Mike White and David O. Russell all set to work behind the camera. However, shooting is expected to kick off next month so this fresh coming together of director Burr Steers (‘Igby Goes Down’) and actors Sam Riley, Lily James -below (‘Fast Girls’, ‘Downton Abbey’) and the stunning Bella Heathcote -below (‘Dark Shadows’) will hopefully remain as the ‘final’ official line-up for the project.
“Opens as a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton-and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she’s soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers-and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead.”
