Just yesterday the international poster for screenwriter turned director Alex Garland’s (’28 Days Later’, ‘Sunshine’) new British psychological thriller ‘Ex Machina’ arrived. It was the typical teaser to raise awareness of the brand new official trailer that would be arriving a mere 24 hours later. The movie stars Alicia Vikander, Oscar Isaac (‘Sucker Punch’) and Domhnall Gleeson (‘Star Wars: Episode VII’) and is heading into UK theatres early next year. In addition to the trailer release A24 picked up the US rights to the movie and will distribute it throughout theatres from 10 April 2015. Head below to check out the new trailer as well as two new, and less interesting, US posters.
“EX MACHINA is an intense psychological thriller in which Caleb (Domhnall Gleeson), a 24 year old coder at the world’s largest internet company, wins a competition to spend a week at a retreat belonging to the company’s reclusive CEO, Nathan (Oscar Isaac). But when Caleb arrives he finds that he will have to participate in a fascinating experiment with the world’s first true artificial intelligence, housed in the body of a beautiful robot woman, Ava (Alicia Vikander). Truths, emotions and motives are blurred as the relationship between Caleb, Ava and Nathan intensifies.”
‘Ex Machina’ opens in UK theatres on 23 January 2015.
