Last year Canadian supernatural series ‘Lost Girl’ finally came to an end after 5 enthralling seasons. The show follows the exciting exploits of Bo, played by the gorgeous Anna Silk, who discovers she is in fact a succubus with supernatural powers and finds the strength to eventually take control of her abilities and try to uncover the truth about her origins. The complete series collection as well as the complete final season boxset is set to land on DVD here in the UK on 25th January courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and to celebrate we thought we would take a look at just some of the best reasons for watching this amazingly addictive show.
THE BEAUTIFUL BO
The lead character Bo, played by Anna Silk, is without a doubt a particularly attention grabbing character to headline a show of this nature. She’s a sexy bi-sexual succubus who is constantly looking for answers to where she came from and she just so happens has to have as much sex as possible along the way in order to survive.
BEST PAL KENZI
She may just be human in a world filled with supernatural beings and faes all around but Kenzi, portrayed by the beautiful Ksenia Solo, is Bo’s bestie and she certainly knows how to handle herself when necessary.
SUPERNATURAL SHAKE-UP
Much like the CW fantasy series ‘Supernatural’ the show manages to cleverly re-imagine certain legendary creatures and entities. It creates a fresh perspective on a number of fantasy-based characters as well as being able to mash-up some madcap goings-on whenever dealing with the paranormal world.
THE CANADIAN TOUCH
Despite the fact that the show tries its very best on occasion to hide the fact that it is actually a Canadian show filmed in Canada it’s this very element that makes it even more interesting. There are no instantly recognisable stars or locations here and it just gives it a more unworldly edge unlike its American counterparts.
FUNNY AND SEXY
Whilst True Blood had its moments ‘Lost Girl’ manages to mix together plenty of sex, whether it’s between guys and girls or girls and girls, yet still has the knack of making audiences laugh thanks to some great writing and the impeccable delivery from the cast.
THE LOVE TRIANGLE
Even though the show is predominantly about the paranormal it does feature an intriguing love triangle that puts together Bo with two vastly different love interests. On the one hand there’s Lauren, the human doctor, and then of course there’s Dyson, the werewolf.
SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
There’s plenty happening in ‘Lost Girl’ to keep most demographics interested to some extent. There are shirtless guys for the girls, naked girls for the guys and plenty of in-jokes and pop references for the geeks.
AN APPEARANCE BY MR SULU
Yes that’s right legendary ‘Star Trek’ actor George Takei pops up for a cameo in the opening episode of season 4 and it’s worth picking up the boxset just to see it.
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release ‘Lost Girl: The Complete Final Season’ as well as ‘Lost Girl: The Complete Seasons 1-5’ on DVD on 25th January 2016.
