TOOLBOX WRITERS BREW NEXT
While their script for the new TOOLBOX MURDERS is currently being filmed by Tobe Hooper (who also directed their screenplay for CROCODILE), writers Jace Anderson and Adam Gierasch have revealed to Fango that theyve got a third collaboration on tap. Were writing another movie for Tobe called BREW, which will be shooting in October, Gierasch tells us. Its about a college guy who inherits a brewery, and he decides to sell it because along with the brewery, hes inherited $100,000 of debt. So he and his friends go to clean this place up, but what they dont know is that his supposedly long-dead ancestors have been locked away in the cellar, living off beer made out of human blood.
They manage to lock the kids in the brewery, and from then on its a chase, Anderson continues. Its a horror/comedy, and its over the top; the family is really dysfunctional.
BREW will be produced by Dan Levin and Platform Entertainment, with Lions Gate handling distribution. Well hopefully be able to have the same sort of casting magic as we did on TOOLBOX, Gierasch says. The people we were able to get for that, from Angela Bettis to Rance Howard to Juliet Landau and Sheri Moon, are just wonderful. Ive never been on a set that was so upbeat. Sources tell Fango that Brad Dourif and Amanda Plummer are in talks to play two of the brewery-dwelling creeps.
