A&E AND 5 NEW GHOST TALES
Ghosts. Sometimes their tales can be frightening and horrifying (‘Casper’), other times they can amuse you with their cheerful attitude (‘The Haunting’ remake) but one things for sure; they’ll always be a tale be told about them.
A&E has decided that it’s the 21st Century, it’s time to start trying to scare people. Remember the Creature Feature remakes that appeared on Cinemax last year? Remember how scary those were? A&E has brought on one of that series’ executive producers, Robyn Rosenfield, to put together a five new movies called ‘Ghost Tales’. The movies will be based on some of the scarier works by authors like Charles Dickens, and be helmed by five as-yet-undetermined independent filmmakers.
Like the aforementioned terrifying tales known as Creature Features, these movies will be filmed virtually back-to-back and be ‘modestly budgeted’, but won’t skimp on the production values. Fine with me, the best ghost stories can be told with very minimal budgets, as long as you have the right people making it.
‘Ghost Tales’ will debut on A&E sometime in 2005, most likely around Halloween.
