MCKEE’S WOODS PROJECT DETAILS
Back when first announced, Lucky (‘May’) McKee’s latest project, for now called ‘The Woods’, it was frustrating because no one really knew anything about it. It’s hard to fill a page with ramblings about a new directorial gig when the plot is never even hinted at.
Thank God for our the readers of the Creature Corner.
They recieved a submission a few days ago from a reader who’s friend had actually gone in to audition for ‘The Woods’, and he was able to deliver to us a basic plot outlline. Since they’re just in the audition stages there’s a good chance this might change slightly, but at least now we have an idea of what Lucky’s doing…
The Woods is about a young girl who is sent to a boarding school because she has been having visions, and basically just general behavior problems. While there she meets up with a few other girls and begin to explore the woods around the school. Well, a few weird and violent premonitions later from Heather, soon the trees in the woods begin to possess the students and the faculty at Heather’s all girls academy.
The scooper said that it’s got a very ‘Invasion of the Body Snatchers’ meets ‘Evil Dead’ feel to it, though most of the violence in the script is done by or too the trees.
Interesting idea, I guess. As long as it doesn’t turn into ‘The Guardian’ I think we’ll be okay, and Lucky has just enough twisted vision to make this something to look forward to.
