FIRST RESIDENT EVIL FEHR PHOTO
Since rising to notoriety with The Mummy films, playing the mysterious Ardeth Bay, Oded Fehr has starred in two short-lived TV shows, UC: Undercover and Presidio Med, and not much else.
Fehr is returning to genre films in the Resident Evil sequel, which is currently filming in Toronto. Fehr portrays Carlos Olivera, a character who will no doubt be familiar to players of the game as a rogue military officer in the Umbrella Corporation.
Rabid fans can get a glimpse of Oded as Carlos over on the right hand side (click for larger view). The image was harvested from the recently launched InsideResidentEvil.com site, set up by filmmakers as a fictional weblog that will chronicle the film’s production through a series of ‘spy reports’ from a blogger who is, as the site says, infiltrating an Umbrella conspiracy to conduct large-scale experiments under the guise of making a movie. Aren’t they clever?
Alexander Witt, second unit director on Daredevil, xXx, Black Hawk Down and Hannibal, is making his feature directing debut on the project. Paul W.S. Anderson, the writer and director of the first Resident Evil film, wrote the script for the sequel.
