HELLRAISER: DEADER
Though HELLRAISER: HELLSEEKER isnt due in video stores until October 15 from Dimension, production of the series seventh entry is set to begin in Romania in five weeks. Titled HELLRAISER: DEADER, the sequel reunites HELLSEEKERs director Rick Bota and co-writer Tim Day. Wait till you get a load of the projects origins:
Weve taken a script called DEADER that Neal Marshall [13 GHOSTS] Stevens sold to Dimension almost two years ago as a spec, and Ive rewritten it to incorporate the HELLRAISER mythology, Day tells Fango. Our heroine is a female reporter for a London newspaper, who is sent to Bucharest to investigate an underground suicide cult known as the Deaders. She is quickly drawn into their dark world and soon can see no way out other than to join them in preparation for the coming of Well, I dont want to ruin it for you.
Doug Bradley plays Pinhead once more, though actress Ashley Laurence (who rejoined the series for HELLSEEKER) wont be returning. Sorry, Kirstys not back in this one, Day says. I tried.
On a side note, Day claims that Clive Barker, who despised INFERNO, has seen HELLSEEKERand liked it! Clive called Rick and had him over to his house for a viewing, Day says. Clive said that he thinks HELLSEEKER is the best one since HELLRAISER II. I believe he said something like, Thank God, somebody finally got it. Everyone knows how he felt about the previous sequels. Its a little bit of a sore spot between him and Dimension.
