At this year's left coast Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors in Pasadena, California, Clive Barker took the stage to discuss his new film project, SAINT SINNER, but also dropped hints about two other films coming up as well.
'We're going to make MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN as a movie,' Barker says. 'It's one of the movies we've got set up for next year. So, hopefully MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN will come rolling down a track near you soon. That's one of the exciting things. We're also doing DOWN, SATAN! and a few other fun things. The next three or four years will see shit-loads of Barker out there!'
'We're going to the heart of his material,' explains SAINT SINNER co-producer, Joe Daley. 'We're diving deep into THE BOOKS OF BLOOD, which is exciting for us and I think exciting for people who have been around and on the journey with us.'
MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN is one of Barker's most popular short stories, originally published in the first BOOKS OF BLOOD. DOWN, SATAN! was originally published in the fourth volume of the BOOKS OF BLOOD. This isn't the first time an upcoming BOOKS OF BLOOD project has been mentioned, however, as Oscar-winning writer/director Bill (GODS AND MONSTERS) Condon was set to oversee an anthology of three stories adapted and directed by new filmmakers.
A number of other projects have already been born out of the BOOKS OF BLOOD including CANDYMAN, LORD OF ILLUSIONS, and the TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE episode, 'The Yattering and Jack.'
