HALLOWEEN COMIC ON THE WAY
Michael Myers will stalk again in a brand-new comic book set to debut at next months HALLOWEEN Comes to Haddonfield convention in Pasadena, CA. Dubbed HALLOWEEN: ONE GOOD SCARE, the self-published, full-color comic will feature artwork by Peter Fielding, lettering by Amanda Hartman and an introduction by HALLOWEEN executive producer Joe Wolf.
For the storyline, Im switching between different time periods and focusing on the people of Haddonfieldon what its like for them growing up overshadowed by the towns evil, says the comics writer, Stefan Hutchinson. Using fresh characters also gives me a lot more room to move as a writer. Its a traditional chase story, but one thats very character-based. Im steering away from the camp attitude that has befallen much of the genre of late. The title of each issue will be derived from dialogue within the first film and will also be relevant to that particular issue.
Joe Wolf wrote up a really nice introduction for the comic, adds HALLOWEEN convention organizer Anthony Masi, and the artist did some dead-on drawings of Joe, Moustapha Akkad and Irwin Yablans for the inside cover. I saw some sample pages from it and it looks amazing.
Though the new HALLOWEEN comics premiere edition will be out next month, follow-up issues depend on fan support and another distributor picking up the title. At the moment were working hard to wrap up the art and design on the first issue, which were going to self-publish for the convention, Hutchinson says. Weve got Joe Wolfs backing on it and are basically trying to land it with a distributor/publisher. Its a slow process, so thats why weve decided to print our own limited run of the debut issuehopefully to create some decent hype and have people wanting to know what happens next.
