US HOLE RELEASE DETAILS
Dimension Home Video has quietly taken THE HOLE, Nick Hamms 2001 British psychothriller, off its schedule. Originally set to debut on VHS and DVD next Tuesday, October 14, the film may now receive some theatrical play ahead of its home debut, now scheduled for some time in 2004. No official explanation has been given for the change in plans, but it likely has something to do with newly high profile of co-star Keira Knightley thanks to her back-to-back hits BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM and PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN. The movie also stars Thora (AMERICAN BEAUTY) Birch and Desmond Harrington (whose profile is also on the rise, thanks to big-studio genre fare like GHOST SHIP and WRONG TURN and his new regular role on L.A. DRAGNET) in the story of a group of students who decide to spend a weekend in an abandoned subterranean bunkerwith devastating results.
