DAWN OF THE DEAD TRAILER DESCRIPTION?
A Creature Corner reader from overseas sent in the following trailer description for a certain remake of a beloved George Romero film (Dawn of the Dead). Now this report comes from Japan, mind you: origin of that fan-art-now-it’s-the-real-deal teaser poster for the film due from Universal next year.
‘We just got back from seeing ‘SWAT’ (we’re a bit behind in Japan) and one of the trailers was for ‘Dawn of the Dead.’ It has the same creepy kid as on the poster.
Basically it’s around daybreak and the camera follows a little blonde girl in her pajamas wakling through a seemingly deserted house. She goes into what seems to be her parents’ bedroom. Then there’s an abrupt cut showing the girl from the bed’s perspective and she is obviously a creepy little zombie. Sort of like a blood covered Dakota Fanning. A great money shot.’
This sounds similar to the first ten pages of the script (review) – and yes, I understand it’s been through some rewrites since the draft I had gotten my paws on James Gunn’s script in January. All I’m saying is that I have little doubts about the legitimacy of the above description.
