BIG WINNERS AT NYC HORROR FEST
The New York City Horror Film Festival, which just concluded at the Tribeca Film Center last night, has announced its award winners. Stevan Menas slasher drama MALEVOLENCE won Best Feature, while Terry M. Wests sexy bloodbath FLESH FOR THE BEAST took two prizes: Best Cinematography (Richard Siegel) and Best Makeup FX (G&S Effects, Peter Gerner, Brian Spears). Best Actor went to Kristina Copeland, as a woman contending with a vicious backwood family in Jeffrey Landos SAVAGE ISLAND, while the Audience Choice was Marc Frattos independent vampire epic STRANGE THINGS HAPPEN AT SUNDOWN. Christopher Broadstones SCREAM FOR ME, about a killer who becomes a victim himself, was named Best Short.
