IS DAN CHASING SHADOWS AGAIN?
Back in 2002, Fox ordered a pilot that was supposed to serve as yet another breath in the long-dead body of vampire Barnabas Collins. Reportedly they wanted Dan Curtis, creator of the original series in the 1960’s, to create a new version of ‘Dark Shadows’ for the 21st Century, but it went nowhere fast.
Today Filmjerk got the scoop on a whole bunch of new shows aimed for the smaller screen in the coming months, and it looks like one of them might be yet another attempt to revitalize the vampire soap.
Right now it’s just called ‘Untitled Vampire Project’, and it’s being worked on by John Wells. Some of the clues that it might be another ‘Dark Shadows’ are that Dan Curtis is co-executive producer and that the lead characters’ name is Barnabas. Those are pretty big clues to me, but after the failure of the series in the 90’s, maybe they’re being more cautious about throwing the ‘DS’ title on it this time.
