ARMAGEDDON WILL BE TELEVISED
Tell me if you’ve heard this joke before. A physicist and a nun try to stop the apocalypse
No? Alright then. I’m gonna make you wait a year for the punchline becausewe won’t know until August of 2004 to be precise. That’s when NBC plans to air a six to eight part miniseries that concerns, um, a physicist and a nun who attempt to put a hold on the rumble between God and Satan.
The Omen scribe David Seltzer will pen the series that’s eyeing to air for one hour each week following the conclusion of the Summer Olympics. Here’s what Seltzer had to tell Reuters about the project
‘What the Book of Revelation predicted is at hand,’ Seltzer said in a statement issued by NBC. ‘Nuclear brinkmanship, worldwide terrorism, collapsing economies and environmental atrocities make it clear that the critical mass of injury to this planet is sufficient to bring down the wrath of God and put the biblical prophecies into play. What is not written in the Bible is whether man can do anything about it. This is where our story begins.’
NBC shelled out a six-figure sum for the script. More developments on this project as they come in.
