IT'S GETTING COLD & DARK IN BRITAIN
After making an impressive impact as Max the cannibal serial killer in Julian Richards? THE LAST HORROR MOVIE (set to be released under the FANGORIA banner in the U.S.), rising genre star Kevin Howarth now joins BLADE II?s Luke Goss in the supernatural horror movie COLD&DARK. Directed by Andrew Goth, who helmed the gritty and very violent EVERYBODY LOVES SUNSHINE/B.U.S.T.E.D (with rock star David Bowie), the new film began six weeks of principal photography on November 18 at St. Agnes? South West Film Studios and on location in Cornwall.
Produced and written by Joanne Reay, COLD&DARK co-stars model Carly Turnbull, Matt (PLUNKETT & MACLEANE) Lucas and David (DRACULA II: ASCENSION) Gant. The story concerns vice squad Detective Sergeant John Dark (Goss, soon to be seen in Hallmark?s TV remake of FRANKENSTEIN), whose partner and mentor Detective Chief Inspector Mortimer Shade (Howarth) is believed murdered by an unknown assailant. However, just as Dark begins to run the killer down, Mort starts making a remarkably rapid recovery. When a series of bizarre underworld killings occur in which Dark and Mort?s major adversaries are taken out by mysterious bestial attacks, it becomes clear that Mort has transformed into something strange and otherworldly. But what exactly? And will Dark's loyalty to his partner remain unshakable? Or will his cop conscience force him to turn Mort?or whatever he?s become?in?
COLD&DARK marks the third horror feature for Howarth this year; he?s also The Stranger in director Nicholas A.J. Sherard?s urban-legend chiller DON?T LOOK BACK.
