CEREAL KILLERS ON THE LOOSE
Production began recently in New Jersey on CEREAL KILLERS, the first feature by writer/director and recent New York University film school graduate Ruben Rodriguez. The digital-video horror/comedy grew out of a potential project for the AMC cable stations Short Screamers festival, and is about three high-school outcasts (Marika Lapointe, Alexis Guerra and Brittany Godish) who plot to humiliate the prom queen (Jaclynn Tiffany Brown). Their plan goes wrong and the prom queen accidentally dies, and the three girls attempts to cover it up only result in more deaths.
CEREAL KILLERS is the kind of movie I liked watching when I was growing up, says Rodriguez. I especially loved CREEPSHOW, which managed to weave comedy between the scares. That is what I am aiming for with CEREAL KILLERS. I want people to be appalled, but still amused. Produced by Alphonso Lynch and Jerusalyn Figueroa, the movie will be shooting through December.
