MANCINI DISCUSSES SEED
Wayne over at Creature Corner sent in a scoop from the pages of the latest Shivers magazine, in which Don Mancini discusses his plans for the fifth Child’s Play film, Seed of Chucky.
The film will be shot on Full Moon’s turf, Romania, using the same soundstages recently used by the production of Cold Mountain. Jennifer Tilly has signed on, but there’s no word if Brad Dourif will be returning as the voice of the insane doll. Mancini says he sees the film in a Wes Craven’s New Nightmare vein, though I’m not sure if that means Chucky will be real (like really real) or if that’s just the style he’s going for.
As previously reported, Seed will deal with the issues homicidal dolls Chucky and Tiffany face when trying to raise a gender-confused offspring. Don says he sees it as a riff on family films like Ordinary People, making his comment about New Nightmare even more confusing.
