TOBE HOOPER SETS BREW CAST
Director Tobe Hooper has cast Backstreet Boys heartthrob Nick Carter in his next horror opus, BREW, which starts shooting at the end of February in LA. I also plan on reuniting with other actors from my previous films, Hooper tells Fango, including Amanda Plummer [from the cable movie THE APARTMENT COMPLEX] and Angela Bettis, who was sensational in my last movie, TOOLBOX MURDERS. Bill [TEXAS CHAINSAW 2] Moseley will be in BREW, too, but he may be unrecognizable [under makeup] in the movie. BREWs co-writer, Adam Gierasch, will act in the movie as well, having played the handyman in TOOLBOX.
Moseley, Hooper says, will portray one of a group of old crazies living in an abandoned brewery, where the beer is made of rat blood. Nick Carter inherits the brewery as a tax deficit, and the place was being used as a theme-park haunted house. So he wants to reopen it. The crazies have been living on rats, but when the young people show up, theyd rather be eating something else
Its a horror/comedy, adds Gierasch, who reteams with CROCODILE/TOOLBOX writing partner Jace Anderson. BREW is one giant SCOOBY DOO chase sequence. Besides his writers and Bettis, Hooper will reteam many of the crew from TOOLBOX MURDERS (which the Fango staff saw and dug), namely cinematographer Steve (MAY) Yedlin and makeup FX creators Dean and Starr Jones.
