JASON VORHEES UNMASKED?
You know what turned out to be one of the greatest disappointments of Yu’s Freddy vs. Jason? They never revealed the disgusting visage behind Jason’s hockey mask. In early set and Internet reports, the creators said make-up artist Bill Terezakis redesigned Jason’s face, yet, we never got to see it. Even the DVD skimped out on a revelation.
In the Creature Corner’s usual search for cool expensive horror stuff, they happened upon a site called Latex Mask Central where they found the masks shown below…
Sculpted by Conor McCullah, an artist on Terezakis’ F vs. J FX team, this is a mask that is indeed for sale and is based on the Jason facial design that ultimately ‘wound up on the cutting room floor.’ You can click here to see a larger scan of the pic above and even order one for yourself.
Also, they were sent a pair of early photos of a Leatherface mask being sculpted by Jon Fuller, distributed by Rubies, based on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and due to hit stores this Halloween. Check ’em out too.
